Upgrade your sandwich to a luxury sandwich!

We reveal some of our secret recipes! Every now and then we renew our dishes and look for surprising flavor combinations. Unfortunately that means that we have to say goodbye to some sandwiches. Fortunately, there is the 'Internet' where these legendary sandwiches can live on. So take advantage of it and let's get toasting!

Elvis Freshly
This sandwich is for the fish lovers. It does not cost you much money and yet you keep the quality. Because you make your own artisanal tuna salad! This is what you need:

- 1 can of tuna (drain)
- 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise
- 1/2 tablespoon of mustard
- 2 teaspoons of capers
- 2 large pickles cut into pieces
- 1 shredded red onion
- Pinch of salt and pepper
- 1 teaspoon of lemon juice

You mix all this in a kom mixed up. Doesn't matter in which order. And voilà, your tuna salad is ready.

In addition to tuna salad, this sandwich also includes tomato and grated cheese. Choose a cheese that you like (young, old, cheddar) and cut the tomato into slices.

Spread a slice of bread with the tuna salad, spread the grated cheese on top, place the tomato slices on top and finally the second slice on top. Note: brush one side of both slices with butter. Make sure to side with the butterct stands with the grill or pan. This gives you a beautiful golden brown color. The sandwich is ready when the cheese has melted.

Fanatic squash
This was one of my personal favorites. A sandwich with goat cheese, roasted pumpkin and honey. It may sound a little crazy, but it is really delicious and healthy! What do you need?

- Goat cheese spread
- Butternut squash
- Honey
- Olive oil
- Cumin seed
- Paprika powder
- Salt

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees, cut the pumpkin into small squares, place baking paper on the baking tray and divide the squares over it, sprinkle this pumpkin with olive oil, (a lot!) Cumin seeds, bell pepper and salt. Shake it well and then you can put it in the oven for 15 minutes. Then prick it with a fork. If the pieces are still too hard and not browned a little, put it in the oven for another 5 minutes.

Spread two slices of bread with goat cheese spread and spread the roasted pumpkin pieces over one slice. The sandwich can be filled with pumpkin. Finally, squeeze a nice amount of honey over the pumpkin. Don't be too frugal with this.

Put it in the pan or grill for 3 - 4 minutes, swap it in between and it is ready to eat!

Fake News
Oh, this boy was a big favorite of the guests. A cheesy grilled sandwich that fills very well. The ultimate comfort food! What you need is the following:

- Herb cheese
- Cheddar (At Grenzeloos we use grated cheddar. You can also buy slices of cheddar cheese. Then you don't have to grate and spend less money on fancy cheese. The quality is of course a lot less.)
- Swiss cheese (Also grate or thinly slice)
- Bacon
- Mushrooms
- If necessary. Red wine

Let's start… As usual, spread two slices of bread again with butter. Then you top the side without butter with a large layer of herb cheese, then put the cheddar and the Emmental cheese on top, then the fried bacon and finally the fried mushrooms. Note: you have to put a pan on the fire for the bacon and mushrooms. The mushrooms are extra tasty if you bake them with a splash of red wine. That gives the sandwich just a tasteful twist. Tip: Add garlic mayonnaise as a sauce.

Fram happy

Not in the mood for something savory? Then the Fram-happy is for you. This is a sweet sandwich with mascarpone and raspberries. Instead of normal bread we use brioche bread. This is a sweet and soft bread that contains eggs, butter, whole milk and sugar. You need the following ingredients:

- Brioche bread (At the Albert Heijn you can buy a brioche for 2.29 euros. You can of course also make it yourself. You need several days for this to rise.)
- Mascarpone
- Raspberries (frozen or fresh)

It's pretty simple… You cut two slices of your brioche bread. Or well… just do three! It is a small loaf of bread and you only live once. Spread 2 of the 3 slices with mascarpone and spread a handful of raspberries over these two slices. Stack the sandwiches and finish the sandwich by placing the uncooked slice on top. Briefly place it under the grill or in the pan. The bread burns quickly. A minute per side is actually enough.

Whichever sandwich you choose, it's probably one you haven't tasted before. We are therefore curious about your response! Do you share your creations and experiences with us?

Have fun making and eating the sandwiches!
